As performed by Dr. Henry, rhinoplasty, or nose reshaping, at our Marin County or other Northern California locations, is a procedure that can correct breathing problems and provide dramatic aesthetic transformations. Rhinoplasty is an incredibly precise, delicate, and demanding procedure, and it takes a skilled surgeon like Dr. Henry to create the most natural-looking and attractive results.
At our Marin County or other Northern California offices, rhinoplasty can be used to reduce the nose, build it up, or adjust its supporting structures. There are many surgical options available to correct the appearance or function of your nose. Nose reshaping is usually performed through discreet incisions placed inside your nose. In some instances, there may also be an incision on the underside of your nose between your nostrils. If the base of your nose is to be narrowed or the size of your nostrils reduced, this can be done by removing small wedges of skin at the base of your nostrils. The resulting scars fade and ultimately should be barely visible.
Rhinoplasty at our Marin County and other Northern California offices is done on an outpatient basis. During the procedure, the patient is placed under sedation and local or general anesthesia. The patient, following nose reshaping, leaves our office with an external cast or splint, which will usually be removed within 7 to 10 days. Your routine will be severely restricted for only a day or two, but it will be a few weeks before you can resume bending, lifting, and exercising. As long as your job isn’t too physically demanding, you should be able to return to work within approximately 10 days. Over the next 2 to 4 weeks, the majority of bruising and swelling subsides. The final results are evident in 12 to 14 months.
Dr. Henry is an artist, and following surgery, most of our Marin County rhinoplasty patients are satisfied that their noses are truly masterpieces. The nose is the central feature of the face, and a beautiful nose can have a dramatic effect on your overall appearance.
