Someone once said, “In old age you end up with the face you deserve.”
At our practice, we believe you deserve to end up with a face you can be proud of at any age. With this in mind, we offer an array of procedures, including cheek implants, chin enlargement, ear pinning, jaw enlargement, permanent lip enlargement, and eyelid and forehead lifts at our offices near Marin County, Sonoma, and Sacramento, all with the goal of giving you a face that reflects your youthful attitude.
Dr. Henry has given thousands of patients dramatic results through blepharoplasty, or eyelid lifts, and with Marin, Sonoma, and Sacramento area offices, she’s just a short drive from virtually anywhere in Northern California.
Eyelid lift surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, can remove the excess fat and wrinkled, drooping skin of the upper eyelids that can make you appear tired or sad. It also eliminates under-eye bags and tightens the skin of your lower eyelid. The result is a more alert and well-rested appearance.
During an eyelid lift at our Marin, Sonoma, or Sacramento area offices, fat and loose skin are removed from the upper eyelid through an incision that is hidden within the natural eyelid fold. The incision extends slightly beyond the outside corner of the eye, where it easily blends into existing laugh lines or other creases. Most patients return to work within around 10 days.

At our Marin, Sonoma, or Sacramento area offices, forehead, or brow, lift is often performed to eliminate frown lines or sagging forehead skin and brows. The procedure creates a friendlier, more youthful and rested appearance.
Forehead lift surgery begins with an incision starting near the ear behind the hairline and spanning the top of the head. The skin of the forehead can then be lifted, at which point the doctor removes excess skin. Forehead muscles are often removed to prevent the formation of wrinkles and creases in the future. The incision is then stitched up or closed using metal clips.
Sutures are usually removed 10 days after a forehead lift at our Sacramento area or other office. Within this time, most swelling and bruising will have disappeared and you will be able to return to work.

At our Marin County facial plastic surgery practice, we are able to add fullness to hollow cheek bones with cheek implants. Customized for each patient, cheek implants are made of solid material and implanted beneath the skin of the cheeks to augment bone structure and give the face a more symmetrical, sculpted appearance.
Performed on an outpatient basis under attended local or general anesthesia, cheek implants are usually inserted through an incision inside the mouth, but may also be placed through a common incision during eyelid or forehead lift surgery at our Sonoma, Marin, and Sacramento area offices.
After the surgery, you’ll most likely be up and about the same day, but strenuous activity will be restricted. Most patients return to work within one to two weeks.

A small, disproportionate, or receding chin can make your face appear asymmetrical and give you a weak profile. Through the use of customized chin implants, chin enlargement, also called genioplasty or mentoplasty, can create an improved profile and a stronger, more attractive jawline that adds balance to your facial features.
During the procedure, an incision is made under the chin or inside the lower lip. A specially crafted, biologically-correct implant is then placed over the bone to perfect the profile. A chin implant can increase the projection of your chin without affecting your bite or jaw function. At one of our offices, a facial plastic surgery procedure like chin enlargement is done on an outpatient basis under sedation and local or general anesthesia. Swelling, tenderness, and local numbness subside within a month or two, and you should be able to return to work within one or two weeks.
Having ears that are disproportionately large or protruding is a common complaint among children and adults. Otoplasty, or ear pinning, can reposition the ears to make them appear smaller while retaining the natural folds and shape.
The procedure is appropriate for patients aged five or six and above. Otoplasty is often recommended for children prior to their entering primary school to help eliminate potential psychological trauma caused by teasing, but ear correction can be done at any age. It involves an incision in the back of the ear that is sutured following the repositioning of the ear. The ears are bandaged for several days, and the desired look will be achieved within 10 to 20 days.
Marin County facial plastic surgery patients who feel that their jaw width is too narrow or who want a more square or robust look to their faces or jawlines should consider jaw enlargement.
During the procedure, an incision is made in the mucous membranes near the wisdom teeth. Next, biologically correct implants are carefully put in place to enhance the jawline, and the incision is closed. During your initial consultation, Dr. Henry will help you determine the specifics of your operation to achieve desired results.
Jaw enlargement is done on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia, and the patient recuperates at home. There will usually be moderate swelling for 7 to 10 days following the procedure.
Permanent lip enlargement is a desirable option for those who want larger, fuller lips. Permanent lip enlargement eliminates the need for repetitive treatments, such as those necessary to preserve the results of collagen injections or fat transfer procedures.
Permanent lip enlargement involves taking a piece of tissue from somewhere in the body (determined by Dr. Henry) and grafting it into one or both lips. Dr. Henry will discuss the alternatives and assist in choosing the best source of tissue graft for you. Dr. Henry can also discuss non-permanent lip augmentation methods involving dermal injections during your consult.
Permanent lip enlargement is performed on an outpatient basis at our Marin County and Bay Area facial plastic surgery centers and can be done with local anesthesia alone, or with the use of sedation plus local or general anesthesia. The lips are noticeably swollen for a week or two. Sutures are removed in about a week, and lip sensation usually returns to normal after the initial healing.
